עֲשָׁשִׁית

עֲשָׁשִׁית, עֲשָׁשִׁיתָאch. sam( עֲשָׁשִׁית f. (v. אָשַׁש a. עֶשֶׁת) wrought iron, bar, ball), crystal, glass ball. Targ. Cant. 5:14.Tanḥ. Vaëra 14 (ref. to מתלקחת, Ex. 9:24) כהדין ע׳ דמיאוכ׳ (= קנדילא דע׳) like (the light in) the glass in which water and oil are mixed together, and the light burns within; Ex. R. s. 12; Cant.
